Through techniques like body awareness exercises, gentle movement, and mindful breathing, somatic therapy helps us

reconnect with the language of the body, facilitating self-healing and overall well-being.

At the heart of my therapeutic practice is the concept of the Felt Sense, a kind of awareness that involves tuning into the body's sensations and intuitive wisdom. In session, we cultivate mindfulness (definition: paying attention to what is happening right now with kindness and curiosity)

and patience when we practice honoring the wisdom of the body.

This creates the conditions for healing to unfold naturally.

Bringing ATTENTION to the FELT SENSE fosters

emotional self-regulation. We learn to BELIEVE, or VALIDATE, the body.

and TRUST what we hear to guide the healing process.

THIS IS OUR BIRTHRIGHT, and valuing embodied wisdom has been practiced for millennia

but it is not valued in a Western capitalist culture,

and so many of us find we need a little support to find our way back.

In Somatic Therapy, we LEARN NEW PATTERNS of ATTUNEMENT to our innate foundation of knowing.

Research shows that we respond to mirror neurons in our interactions with other caring humans.

When we work together, I ACKNOWLEDGE and VALUE your INTUITIVE WISDOM

and then, theoretically, your mirror neurons respond,

with curiosity about how much the body has to share,

and how much it longs to be heard.

This wisdom is a subtle voice that is not found in your head.

SOMATIC THERAPY

is a HOLISTIC APPROACH to healing that values the

CONNECTION between PHYSICAL SENSATIONS and EMOTIONAL EXPERIENCES.

It is based on the understanding that the body physically holds and expresses messages through sensations and intuition.

By focusing on the body's sensations, we bring attention to these messages.

This simple and profound practice restores balance and promotes nervous system regulation.
